A part of Mordialloc since 1964
Every day at MCC is a hub of activity with over 3000 community members a week passing through our doors. Our Mordy Flyers Basketball, Pink Panthers Netball, Dance, Gymnastics, Holiday Program, Playgroup and Senior Citizens have been going strong since the 70s. Activities constantly evolve to serve community demand. We have over 60 staff and 100 volunteers that share in our community spirit and go far and beyond to deliver a fantastic selection of high-quality activities at an affordable price.
In 2014 Mordialloc Community Centre celebrated 50 years of serving the community. Since forming in 1964, the Centre has undergone many renovations and extensions to become the thriving community hub it is today. The Centre operates from two locations – most activities are held at the main building at 115a Warren Road, while basketball, netball and some dance classes occur after hours just across the road at the Parkdale Secondary College Community Precinct.
Our Mission: To facilitate and develop opportunities through a range of dynamic activities that sustain healthy lifestyles and social connections for all generations of our community.
MCC is an independent, not for profit incorporated association. Membership is open to all people in the community whether they currently use the centre or not. Membership gives voting rights at the AGM and other meetings as called. A $10 family membership fee applies this is included with activity fees once a year. Our AGM in May is a fun, well attended night and all are welcome.
Staff and Volunteers
A full-time Manager is employed to manage the day-to-day operation of the Centre. Other office, casual and sessional staff, along with many volunteers support in conducting daily classes and administration tasks. Let us know if you are interested in working or volunteering at MCC.
Committee of Governance
A voluntary group of 6-7 people are elected to the Committee of Governance each year at the Centre’s AGM. These committee members:
• oversee the constitutional governance of the Centre
• commit to giving two-four hours per month in meetings and support
• offer guidance, expertise and skills in strategic and business planning, human resources, administration and financial management.
Our Committee of Governance meets on the 4th Monday of the month from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Interested visitors are welcome to attend by calling the Centre Manager. The Committee can be contacted through the Centre’s Manager on 9580-3675
