Bringing our Senior Community Together

The Mordialloc Community Centre provides a range of activities for older adults to make new friends in a relaxed, sociable and secure environment.

Enjoy an active and fulling lifestyle, participate in a range of safe, healthy and stimulating activities.

So if you are 55 years and over why not consider one or more of our programs or perhaps you would like to suggest a ‘new’ program or activity.

All communication with parents about teams and events are done via team app and facebook along with emails from coaches and team managers. Please ensure you read ALL communication given to you to ensure you are up to date on all club information.

Our centre also releases a newsletter, MCC Connect, once a term which contains information regarding all areas of the centre.

Don’t forget to “LIKE” MCC Panthers on Facebook for all your up to date information on registration and Community Centre events.

MCC Bike Riding Group

MCC offers a bike riding activity for seniors (60+ years)
who would like to enjoy a group riding experience.
We meet each week on Tuesday and Thursday and offer a fun biking
experience for all levels of riders.

Tuesday: 9.30am

$2.50 per person
Please arrive at 9.15am
The ride is approx 15—20kms
Longer rides are on the  last Tuesday of the month.

Thursday: 9.30am (This session is for new riders)

$2.50 per person
Please arrive at 9.15am
Bookings essential for this group.

What to bring:
– Bike, helmet and drink bottle
We provide assistance with;

  • Bike skills,
  • Safety tips,
  • Bike choice
  • Maintenance if required.
MCC Touring Bike Club

MCC’s touring bike club runs monthly and organises rides throughout the year. They are approximately 30kms and are a great ride! Please contact the centre for more details.

Easy Exercise

$7.50 per person
Monday: 10:30am – 11:30am

This is a chair based exercise class suitable for both men and women. The class incorporates a total workout with some standing movements. We also use hand weights and chi balls to increase muscle strength, improve co-ordination, flexibility and balance. This class suits people with limited movement or those with back, knee and hip issues. A great class to start your week.

Wednesday: 9.30am – 10.30am
Friday: 9.30am – 10.30am

This is a moderately paced exercise class for men and women. The class incorporates a great variety of exercise techniques including ball work, light weights and balance work. Best of all it is a fun filled hour of exercise and great social network for older adults.

Zumba Gold

$9.00 per person

Thursday: 10:30am – 11:15am

Zumba Gold is a dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto ‘Beto’ Perez during the 1990s.

The class uses Latin music and simple movement to improve flexibility, strength and balance. A great way to get fit and enjoy yourself!

Mordi Walkers

Free

Monday: 9:30am – 11:00am

Walking is a wonderful low-impact exercise. It works the cardiovascular system and burns calories.

We have a slow group for beginners and a quicker pace group to suit others. See Kathy for details.

Yoga

$9.00 per person

Monday: 2.00pm – 3.00pm
Booking is essential.

Yoga can improve both your physical fitness and your general wellbeing through a series of postures and breathing exercises. Regular yoga practice helps develop strength, balance and flexibility.

Tai Chi

$7.50 per person

Monday: 9.15am – 10.15am

This ancient Chinese art promotes mental and physical wellbeing.

Movements are slow and controlled. and helps to improve your strength, flexibility and balance.

Pryme Ball

$3.00 per person

Wednesday 1.00pm – 3.00pm

A fun team sports game for Seniors. Pryme Ball is a modified game of volleyball suitable for men and women.

If you are looking for a way to get just a little active, stay healthy and meet new friends, we invite you to come and join us.

Mah Jong

$3.00 per person

Wednesday: 1.00 – 3.00pm
EASTERN STYLE
Thursday: 1.00 – 3.00pm
WESTERN STYLE

Mahjong is a fun social game of skill and strategy and a great way to keep your mind active, healthy and sharp.

Indoor Bowls

$3.00 per person

Wednesday: 12.30pm – 3.30pm

Our Indoor Bowls game is very similar to outdoor bowls, with slight changes in rules, and is played on strips of imitation green. It offers a fun and relaxed way to keep active and be part of a group.

Table Tennis

$3.00 per person

Thursday: 1.00pm – 3.00pm

World wide millions of people play table tennis – It is entertaining, fun, fast and has great health benefits as well.

Bus Trips

Our MCC Bus Trips are specially designed for seniors. They are an affordable way to get out and about and offer a wonderful way to meet other likeminded people. Numbers are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

MCC hosts regular music and lunch events right here at the community centre. These lunches are ideal for people passionate about food, music and hearty conversation which is enjoyed in a relaxed fun environment.

Computer, iPad & Phone lessons

Computer/iPad Lessons

Wednesday & Friday

Sessions are held between 9.15 and 12.15

FREE one-on-one sessions

Come and learn basic computer skills and what the internet will do for you. Learn how to search for information, set up an email address and how to send and receive messages. This program is available due to a team of volunteer tutors who conduct one-on- one hour sessions.

$5.00 one-on-one sessions

A mobile phone can do so much and has the
potential to offer you a lot of help. Learning how to
use a smartphone can be overwhelming but once
in use it can help you stay in touch. It not only can
make your life easier but also more fun.
